Dreaming of Oyster Season: Last August, Landon planned a trip for a group of us to go up north to the Tamales Bay Oyster Co. in west Marin County. There are first-come-first-served picnic tables and grills for you to set up on. You buy a bag of mind-bogglingly fresh oysters right there, carry them a few feet to your table and grill them up — or not. You provide the charcoal, drinks, and any other accoutrements. Which means, if you are Jason and Brad, lots of butter for melting and a forearm-sized chunk of fresh horseradish for grating into it. And who can forget Taylor’s famous home-made hot sauce? It’s all enough to make oyster lovers even out of me and C.
